For Noisebridge’s 3rd birthday, Molly and I made matching LED-enabled garments. I helped her wire up her LED Evening gown, while I decided to try my hand at animated clothing.
I got 150 blue LEDs from Jameco, and wired them up using spare cat-5 cable. An Arduino and a TI TLC-5952 made for a simple control circuit. The result was awesome. On the back, an animated Atari logo chased itself. On the lapel, a string of LEDs “breathed” like a sleeping Mac laptop.
